Proceeds from this event will be split 50/50 and donated to the Bay School Community Arts Center and Hands Across Mathews to support their Empty Bowls event.

A few things to know

After you finish painting your bowl, we will use a glazing pencil to write your name on the bottom. You will leave your bowl with us, and our staff will deliver the bowls to the Bay School Community Arts Center, where they will be glazed for you.

Your finished bowl will be available for pickup at the Empty Bowls event on December 13, 2026, or arranged on a date thereafter. You will receive free entry to the Empty Bowls event and a complimentary bowl of soup while you're there!

The paint-your-own bowl event will take place outdoors, and we will have heaters nearby to help keep you warm. You will be painting around our picnic tables. Unless you book an entire table for your group, you may share a table with other guests, with up to six people per table.

We will take the very best care of your beautiful bowl, but sometimes things happen, and there is always a risk of damage when transporting pottery from The Hatchery to the Bay School Community Arts Center.

If your bowl is damaged, don't worry! You will be able to choose a free replacement bowl of your choice at the Empty Bowls event in December
