In this intermediate-level surface decorating class, students will explore a range of techniques for adding color, pattern, and texture to clay. We’ll work with terra sigillata, mishima, inlay, sgraffito, and nerikomi-style inlay, experimenting with both traditional methods and personal approaches to surface design. The class will focus on building confidence with these techniques while encouraging students to develop their own visual language and make thoughtful choices about how surface and form work together.  Bring your pottery tools to class.
