An animal's head and face can be the most detailed and expressive parts of the body to sculpt! By focusing on eyes, ears, and gesture of the head, students will highlight species characteristics and emotion in their animals. Learn and practice basic sculpting skills such as hollowing, and additive methods to build an animal bust which can hang on the wall or be mounted on a pedestal. Instruction will include important finishing steps such as drying time, glazing, and firing methods. Bring your favorite sculpting tools and photos that depict multiple angles of the animal’s face.
